Aquazzura: Be on the Lookout

Aquazzura is the shoe line developed by industry prodigy Edgardo Osorio. Osorio, is a Colombian-born shoe designer based out of Florence, Italy who at the young age of 26 has already worked in the industry for many years. By the age of 18 he started working for Salvatore Ferragamo and has since worked for Sigerson Morrison and most recently for Roberto Cavalli. Aquazzura shoes are made using the finest of leathers and include details such as rubberized heels and bra-strap closures. The Website for the line is still in development and we have yet to find out what stores will be stocking these beauties; but be on the lookout, as you will definitely want to own a pair of this designer's gorgeous creations.

Twilight Fever

Like many people I have been counting the days for the release of Breaking Dawn and finally getting to see Edward and Bella get married!!! I am totally obsessed with these movies!! I recently checked the page of one of my favourite jeweler designers, David Yurman and discovered this gorgeous ring reminiscent of Bella's engagement ring. I am not sure if this is what he had in mind, but if you would love to own a ring similar to Bella's then this is the ring for you!
The Diamond Starlight Ring is done in sterling silver with Rhodium and a total carat weight of 1.01.

Absolutely Stunning!!

I am not sure at what stores in the UK if any, you can purchase David Yurman's jewelry, however Saks Fifth Avenue in the U.S. will ship to the UK and you can purchase it through them.

P.S. I know this is not shoe-related however, I just had to share :)

When Fashion is in Your Blood

The well-crafted shoe is my passion and Tania Spinelli sure knows her stuff.
Tania's father is a tailor and her mother a seamstress, she also married into a third-generation family of Italian cobblers so, I think we can safely say that Spinelli has fashion in her blood! She worked in the fashion industry for several years quickly becoming design director of Hilfiger Collection but the pull of shoe design was too great and she eventually returned to her greatest love. Today Tania lives in New York and travels frequently to Venice where her shoe line is made. Spinelli's shoes have been featured in countless magazines and is a favourite of Hollywood stars, including the stars of Gossip Girl. Her shoes have frequently been used on stars Blake Lively and Taylor Momsen.

Here are some of the designs from her A/W 11 collection, I am particularly in love with the burgundy bow-tie-back boots and the calf hair, gold-tipped pumps! Let me know which one's you can't wait to add to your wardrobe!

Belle Boots

As a petite girl I wear heels constantly and I especially love the comfort of a wedge. I recently came across these to-die-for ankle boots by Belle Sigerson Morrison. Belle is the sister line to long-standing luxury label Sigerson Morrison and their shoes are AMAZING!
These ankle boots are definitely my favourite! An assymetrical-cut wedge bootie in spotted black and stone-coloured calf hair with metal accents on the toe and heel. I cant wait to wear these with a pair of leggings and a fun leather jacket. What would you wear these with?
Luv, Luv, Luv this shoe!!!

I am so excited for this!!! my advice would be to queue up early and purchase the book ahead of time so you can save some time on the day of the signing.  I learned my lesson after attending the Manolo Blahnik signing at Liberty last year.

A Bit of Cheer on a Rainy Day

Living in London one has to get used to the rain. However, I still have trouble keeping upbeat on cold rainy days and the one thing that cheers me up is knowing that I get to put on a fun pair of Wellies!
Do you know where the term Wellington comes from? well, I didn't and in thinking about this post I decided to do a bit of research. The short of it is that these boots were worn and popularised by Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington. This novel "Wellington" boot then became a fashionable style emulated by the British aristocracy in the early 19th century.  If you would like to know more of the history of the boot visit the Wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wellington_boot

I put together a small list of fun, different, stylish Wellies that will have you wishing for a rainy day!

For the biker chic in all of us:
Jimmy Choo continues their partnership with Hunter and has created this ever so fun biker wellie. I think this boot is great over a great pair of skinny jeans or with a fun flirty dress either long or short. This boot also comes in a to-the-knee version.

The Covert Wellie:
For a wellie that doesn't really look like a wellie but serves the same purpose, check out Vivienne Westwood's Anglomania Ankle boots. I especially love them in this sky blue colour and the gold signature  hardware is AMAZING!

The Classic:
If you are just looking for a classic-looking wellie that you can wear with just about anything and can help you mitigate those puddles while you are out, look no further than Hunter.  I personally like classic with a bit of a twist and these oh-so-chic grey high-gloss boots are absolutely stunning!  These are also on special now at ASOS for £63.00 so I would hurry.

The Label Lover:
For the fashionista who likes to be noticed, Gucci makes a beautiful pair of wellies with their famous "GG" pattern.  This boot comes in several colours but I personally like the classic brown that you can pair with just about any work outfit.

Passion for Colour:
Gucci also makes these fabulous cherry red flat boots with Web detailing in their signature green and red stripe. Colour always makes me feel more empowered and cheerful so what better than a pair of bright red boots to make you feel like you can rule the world!, well maybe not rule the world but at least make it through the day with a spring in your step.

Heel Junkie:
If you are a bit like me and have a hard time parting with wearing heels than this is the wellie for you. I am not very tall so anything that elevates me and gets me off the ground makes me very happy. Hunter makes a beautiful wedge boot which allows you to look great and not sacrifice your heels or your style.

Get Noticed!

I am always on the lookout for creativity and beautiful craftsmanship in footwear and when I came across the Spring 2012 collection by the house of Vionnet, I knew I had to share!

The use of colour, texture and materials is absolutely beautiful, I am especially in love with the beaded multi-color strappy heel!! You will be sure to get noticed and admired in any of these beauties.

Below are some of the shoes in the line by their designer Rodolfo Paglialunga.

The best of AW 11/12 in shoe trends

Hello Shoe lovers,

I have gone out and searched for what I believe to be the best examples of the shoe trends this season.  The runways were hot with all sorts of fabulous creations so here is my paired down list of what you should be running out to purchase.

Colour is really big for AW 11/12! Loads of rich tones of Burgundy, Mustard, Teal and well the list goes on. I think the "Carmen" by Charlotte Olympia is a perfect example of a beautifully made colourful shoe that  follows several of the trends this season.

You can't go wrong with a to die for chunky wedge
in a fabulous colour with an of-the-moment ankle strap!

This season the block heel is back in a big way and Fendi has done a beautiful version of a mens brogue inspired shoe with a textured block heel.  Fabulous to the office or on the weekend!

Patent leather shoes are always a classic must-have in any woman's wardrobe. This season Louis Vuitton has done an especially girly patent pump that I have been salivating over! It comes in both a dark green and timeless black.

Laces, Laces everywhere! and I found a gorgeous example of a to the knee version lace-up boot that you can wear with just about anything!  YSL  has created this super sexy suede wedge lace-up boot that is to die for!

Snakeskin was used by many a designer for AW 11/12, my favourite by far is by Jimmy Choo. The "Forbes" is a beautiful mustard suede double platform pump with a gorgeous viper-print Elaphe strap.

For evening, satin was the name of the game. Whilst there are many examples of beautifully crafted satin shoes, my vote goes to the satin shoe with a twist! The ever creative Christian Louboutin has come up with an absolutely fabulous creation that combines crepe satin and leather sequins. The "Clair De Lune" will take you right through all those holiday season parties and I guarantee you will get noticed!

This concludes my list of the "must haves" for AW 11/12. Happy shopping everyone!
